Civil and Environmental Engineering students Andreu Ferrero, Kate Petak, and Stefan Bussey have been selected by the Institute for Sustainable Solutions for 2012 Portland State Solutions Generator grants.

Andreu is working with three other PSU students on a project called “Facilities Maintenance Treatment Wetland,” to build a small-scale treatment wetland on campus to treat wash water from PSU’s landscaping equipment.

Kate and Stefan are members of a 4-person team that was awarded a grant for their proposal, “12th Avenue Cycle Track.” The students will study the feasibility of creating a northbound cycle track to complement the existing cycle track on SW Broadway.
