The UPA library is located on the seventh floor of the Urban Center Building. The library occupies approximately 1500 square feet and includes space for the library holdings, study desks for students and computers for on-line library searches. The library is staffed and open to students Monday through Friday and serves primarily as a resource for reference materials, including agency reports fro the Portland metropolitan region. (A collection of the most recent reports is also available in the SUSP studio for use by the Planning Workshop.) The collection was supplemented several years ago with a major contribution of books and planning reports from retired planning educator H. Stuart Chapin. In addition, a recent endowment has been set up for the College of Urban and Public Affairs to increase the library holdings.
