Transfer Students
Students transferring to Portland State University from other post-secondary institutions are usually required to take Transfer Transition. Designed by an interdisciplinary team of faculty, this course helps orient students to PSU and introduces them to the four University Studies goals: critical thinking, ethics and social responsibility, understanding the diversity of human experience, and communication skills for learning and expression.
Faculty and peer mentors assist students in learning the process of inquiry and problem-solving from the perspective of several different disciplines, and building a foundation for the effective and efficient application of information technology resources. Courses are fast-paced and interactive, providing students with multiple opportunities to practice and become proficient in the four University Studies goals. Students transferring to Portland State have differing University Studies requirements, depending on their number of credit hours, so should refer to the transfer map for details.
If you are participating in a co-admission program, your placement may need to be adjusted. For more information contact Community College Relations: cctransfer@pdx.edu.
