Ford Motor Company and its electric vehicle tour is motoring into Portland on Aug. 24. The event takes place at Portland State University in the Urban Center Plaza (S.W. Fifth and Mill St.) and will include a panel discussion and test drives of the Ford Focus electric plug-in, Ford Escape Hybrid plug-in and Fusion Hybrid.
Mike Tinskey, Ford's manager of sustainability activities focused on electric vehicles and infrastructure, will lead a round table discussion on the latest EV technology, infrastructure needs and consumer education. Representatives from Portland General Electric, Microsoft Corp., Coulomb Technologies and PSU will also be on hand to discuss the current EV landscape and what it means for Oregon and Southwest Washington.
The panel discussion will be held between noon and 1:30 p.m. in the PSU Urban Center, Room 250 (506 S.W. Mill St.) followed by vehicle demonstrations and test drives between 1:30 and 3:00 p.m.
