The Portland State Chamber Choir performs a benefit concert to support their upcoming tour to Italy to compete in the 52nd Annual Seghizzi International Competition for Choral Singing, one of the oldest and most prestigious competitions of its kind in the world. The Chamber Choir is the first American Choir to be invited to compete in several years. The concert will consist of music that the Chamber Choir will compete with including 19th century classics by Verdi, Mendelssohn, Rachmaninoff and Pearsall; modern masterworks by Pizzetti, Whitacre, Esenvalds and Antognini; and American folksongs, hymns, and spirituals.
