Faculty can propose a new cluster course, or that an existing cluster course be added to an additional cluster, as long as it fulfills the requirements of a particular cluster. If you have questions about whether or not a class qualifies, please refer to the cluster listings and contact the cluster coordinator.

To propose a course, complete the appropriate form and send the original plus 12 copies to Katherine Barich in University Studies. Cluster course proposals are due November 8.

For a course to qualify, the following criterea apply:

  • Proposed 400-level courses cannot be cross listed with 500-level courses.
  • Clusters need to balance 300-level and 400-level course offerings: approximately 50% at 300-level and 50% at 400-level.
  • Omnibus numbers can be proposed, but their titles must be consistant throughout the time that they are offered.
