Profile

Research Assistant Professor & Managing Director - Center for Climate and Aerosol Research
Dr. Barsanti's research pursuits are in modeling atmospheric organic aerosols, which are key contributors to air pollution and climate change. More specifically, she is interested in using knowledge gained from process-level models and laboratory experiments to better represent organic aerosol formation and loss in models of regional and global air quality and climate. Dr. Barsanti came to Portland State University following three years at the National Center for Atmospheric Research where she was an Advanced Study Program Postdoctoral Fellow. In addition to pursuing independent research and teaching, she will be serving as the managing director of the newly formed Center for Climate and Aerosol Research at Portland State University, a multidisciplinary engine for research and teaching on aerosols and climate.
