Graphic Identity

Portland State University has a comprehensive identity program. Our logo, typefaces, Web and print design templates, and messages reflect and build upon our reputation as an engaged urban university.

Trademark Licensing

Portland State authorizes the use of the University’s name and logos on merchandise through a formal licensing and trademark program administered in partnership with the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC).

Social Media

Portland State supports the use of social media by employees to engage and connect with audiences important to their departments. 

Online Reputation

University Communications monitors and manages the online reputation of the University on external sites and in the media.

Virtual Viking

Virtual Viking is a weekly newsletter email sent to Portland State students. It contains announcements of forthcoming PSU events and information relevant to the entire PSU community. Submissions to Virtual Viking may be sent to by Thursday at 5 p.m.

Integrated Marketing Council

The council serve as a leadership team that helps guide the marketing communication goals and strategy for Portland State University based on institutional objectives and market research. The Council will guide and engage campus-wide marketing and communication professionals and broader campus community in advancing an integrated marketing approach that accomplishes both institutional and unit goals.

The Marketing team maintains a limited number of PSU display items that can be used at events and trade shows, including table drapes, podium sign, pop-up exhibit display, table-top display, flag, slide loop, video, promotional items, and more.
