Portland State University’s official Flickr address is


Flickr is an image hosting and video hosting website, web services site, and online community created by Ludicorp and later acquired by Yahoo!. In addition to being a popular website for users to share and embed personal photographs, the service is widely used by bloggers to host images that they embed in blogs and social media.

Portland State users Flickr to:

  • Showcase visual content
  • Generate new and up-to-date content that appeals to target audiences
  • Encourage viewer comments
  • Cross promote photos through Twitter, Facebook, etc.

Instructions for PSU Departments and Groups

Please use PSU's official photostream. Do not create a Flickr photostream for your department.

General Guidelines for Portland State University's Official Flickr site:

  • Please use discretion when choosing photos to add to the PSU Flickr site. To prevent duplication, only the best photo of any individual or group should be chosen to use.  
  • Please limit photos of decorations and food at events.
  • To maintain compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), please obtain permission of any individual student or group of students being photographed.  Any photo without signed permission cannot be uploaded to the site.  Download the Portland State University Photo and Video Permission Form.
  • University Communications reserves the right to vet all photos for content before they are uploaded.
