Since you can't toss your business card into an e-mail message, consider including a custom Portland State University signature instead.

  1. Log in to PSU Google Mail (mail.pdx.edu).
  2. Click the Gear icon in the upper right corner, then the Settings option.
  3. Locate the Signature section on the General tab.
  4. Set the cursor in the editor and press Return/Enter twice.
  5. Enter your signature text. Use the example to the right as a model.
  6. [optional] Add the PSU logo
    1. Click the Insert Image button.
      Note: If you see "Plain Text" above the signature box and don't have any formatting tools, do the following:
      1. Click Compose
      2. Click the More options menu (lower right).
      3. Click "Plain text mode" to toggle that setting off.
      4. Refresh the Settings window.
    2. Click Web Address (URL).
    3. Copy the following URL and paste it into the "Paste an image URL here" field:
      http://www.pdx.edu/university-communications/sites/www.pdx.edu.university-communications/files/psu_signature165x35.gif
    4. Click the Select button.
  7. [optional] Link the PSU logo to the PSU website
    1. Select the PSU logo
    2. Click the Link button.
    3. Click the Change link.
    4. Enter www.pdx.edu in the "To what URL should this link go?" field.
    5. Click the OK button.
  8. [optional] Add social media icon(s).
    1. Click the Insert Image button.
    2. Click Web Address (URL).
    3. Copy one of the following URLs and paste it in the "Paste an image URL here" field:

      Twitter: http://www.pdx.edu/university-communications/sites/www.pdx.edu.university-communications/files/twitter-copy.png

    4. Click the Select button. Repeat for each icon that you want to add.
  9. [optional] Link the additional icons.
    1. Select an icon
    2. Click the link button.
    3. Click the Change link.
    4. In the "To what URL should this link go?" field, enter the Web address that corresponds with the icon:
      Facebook: www.facebook.com/portlandstatefans
      Twitter: www.twitter.com/portland_state
      Instagram: www.instagram.com/portlandstate
      Flickr: www.flickr.com/portland_state_university
      YouTube: www.youtube.com/portlandstateu
      PSU Chronicles: www.psuchronicles.com

      LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/edu/portland-state-university-19202
    5. Click the OK button. Repeat for each icon you want to link.
  10. Scroll to the bottom of the Google Mail settings page and click the Save Changes button.
