Weeks 1 through 4 (February 27 through March 20)
Sockeye Creative holds an initial meeting with the Task Force and conducts 16 one-on-one meetings with administrative stakeholders (seven deans; provost; president; President of Faculty Senate; Vice President for University Relations; Vice President for Finance and Administration; Assistant to President for Strategic Planning, Public Policy and Government Relations; Director PSU Library; Vice Provost, Extended Studies; Athletic Director of Marketing). Each of these meetings is one hour.
Sockeye also engages the work group and additional stakeholders (students, faculty and staff, and marketing professionals) in group discussions.
The work group meets once a week and the whole task force gathers once each month (24 meetings, one hour each). At least one Sockeye representative is present at each gathering.
Week 5 (March 27; Spring Break)
Message-on-a-page (MOP) is refined and distributed to task force.
Week 6 (April 3)
First draft of creative brief is presented to the work group.
Creative brief is refined and distributed to the task force.
Design begins.
Week 7 (April 10)
Design continues.
Week 8 (April 17)
Ten or more rough identity designs are submitted to the work group.
Three directions chosen.
Week 9 (April 24)
Design continues.
Week 10 (May 1)
Three directions (refined) are presented to the work group.
Task force is briefed at monthly meeting.
Implementation and integration discussions begin (magazine, Web, etc.).
Week 11 (May 8)
Public presentations and viewing (2-3 days)
Feedback is due and reviewed by work group.
One direction is chosen.
Design continues; single direction is taken into multiple iterations.
Week 12 (May 15)
Single direction iterations are presented to the work group.
Week 13 (May 22)
Presentation of further refined direction is presented to the task force.
Public presentations and viewing (2-3 days)
Feedback is collected and culled.
Week 14 (May 29)
Final design is refined and approved by the work group.
Final logo is presented to the task force.
Weeks 15 through 20 (June 5 through June 26)
Visual identity is applied to necessary materials.
