FAQ: I'm creating a department newsletter using the Microsoft Word newsletter template from University Communications. Are there any word count guidelines to help me fit copy in the various spaces?

Copy fits best in the four-page newsletter format when you follow these word count guidelines:

Page 1: 200-300
Page 2: 300-400; sidebar: 125-175
Page 3: 400-500; sidebar: 50-75
Page 4 [without mailing label]: 200-250; bottom: 125; sidebar: 25-50

Of course, additional copy can go on additional pages.
