Services
Marketing
Consult with our marketing professional to develop a comprehensive marketing strategy for getting messages to targeted audiences in the most timely and cost-effective means possible.
We also manage display, broadcast and online advertising for the University and its colleges/schools.
Media Relations
Non-paid media promotions are powerful ways to promote the University. Our experts in media relations write press releases and prepare press kits. We also connect media with faculty experts and advise units on making good use of media resources, whether the media is print, broadcast, online, or otherwise.
Community Relations
While we continue to manage the exciting Umbrella Tours community relations program, we also advise units looking to create or boost awareness of Portland State's programs and services to external constituents.
Publication Development
Our publication expertise comes in handy when we help University departments and programs plan and produce print collateral (i.e., brochures, booklets, newsletters, postcards), ensuring that documents meet style and message standards that benefit the University.
Graphic Design & Print Coordination
Whenever possible we use in-house graphic designers to produce print publications or consult with units about their print projects. When in-house isn't possible, we'll refer you to trusted outside printers, as well as vendors for banners, signs, and non-print applications.
The department also produces Portland State Magazine for alumni, friends and the University community and the Currently newsletter for employees. We welcome ideas for stories or other submissions to either publication.
Web Communications
Call on our Web team to provide Web templates and training for both Saga (the University's central Web content management system) and non-Saga Web projects. We also maintain the top-level University Web pages, though we're happy to hear suggestions and receive notification of updated links.
Keeping Current
Subscribe to a mailing list for communicators and marketers and use the list to pose questions, share communication strategies and receive identity related announcements.
