Veterans Services works to support student-veterans by collaborating with, and making referrals to, programs and services both at Portland State and in the community. Veterans Services also provides pre-admissions assistance and academic advising to ensure veterans are able to take full advantage of their VA benefits and campus services.

Veterans Certification Office

The Certification Office processes all enrollment verifications to ensure that students receiving VA benefits are certified each term. The office also processes military transcripts to grant any college level equivalency.

The SVA is a student advocacy and service group that works to promote, unify and advocate for the veteran voice on campus. Their mission is to bring together past and current members of the Armed Forces attending PSU.

The Campus Veterans Service Officer (VSO) provides advocacy to veterans, their dependents, and survivors in obtaining benefits entitled to them through Federal, State and local programs to include compensation, pension, health care and VA educational programs.

Student accounts are serviced through the Bursar's Office. Students are able to pay tuition and fees in three equal payments without incurring late fees via the revolving charge account program.

Want to learn how to put military training into civilian terms? The Career Center has many services to assist students with the goal of attaining meaningful employment. Some of these services include help finding a job, writing a resume or brushing up on interview skills.

The DRC helps to ensure equal access to University courses, programs, facilities, services, and activities by providing students with documented disabilities reasonable accommodations, academic adjustments, auxiliary aids and services, training, consultation, and technical assistance.

EEPS provides PSU sponsored and TRIO programs for the purpose of increasing access to college for those whose backgrounds are traditionally under-represented in post-secondary education.

The EOP serves students who are either first generation, low income, or with disabilities and have a need for academic support. This is a space-limited program. Students are encouraged to apply early.
Financial Aid

Financial Aid is available to assist veterans in deciphering the various types of aid programs available to supplement veterans' education benefits. One program is the Voyager Tuition Assistance Program for Oregon members of the National Guard and Reserves who have been deployed to a combat zone since September 11, 2001.

Skills Enhancement & Tutoring Center

The SETC provides free drop-in tutoring in math and statistics, the sciences, and foreign languages. SETC also offers workshops on test taking, reading, public speaking, note-taking and time management.

SHAC provides a wide range of medical, dental and mental health support services to the PSU community. Students enrolled in 5 or more regular credit hours are automatically eligible for the Basic Insurance Plan.

The UASC offers both academic advising for general education requirements, and other services and referrals for veterans, community college students (including those who are co-admitted) and students with academic difficulties.
