Academic Support Program (ASP)
The Academic Support Program provides identified PSU students with additional support, mentoring, and advising to promote their academic success. Services include access to a "College Success" course to address the concerns of new and struggling college students, study skills workshops, mentoring, and referrals to other campus resources. Students who are having academic difficulty and/or who are on academic warning, probation, or dismissal are encouraged to discuss their situation with a UASC adviser to determine eligibility for ASP.

Career Center
The Career Center assists PSU students with career development, career decision-making processes, and job search needs. The Career Center also teaches students how to write resumes, interview, and conduct effective job searches. Through PSU CareerConnect, the Career Center posts part-time and full-time jobs as well as internships. It also coordinates an on-campus recruiting program where employers interview seniors on campus for career positions.

Co-Admission Programs
Co-admission programs, currently in place with Chemeketa Community College, Clackamas Community College, Clark College, Clatsop Community College, Mt. Hood Community College, and Portland Community College, help ease the transition from community college to the University. Co-admitted students have access to PSU academic advising, library privileges, and, if qualified, financial aid for both PSU and community college courses.

The CLAS Advising Office provides advising for liberal studies and general studies: social sciences, arts and letters, and science majors as well as for students wishing to enter the health professions or education.

Community College Relations (CCR)
Community College Relations responds to the needs of students transferring to PSU from community college by providing advising and transition assistance. The office also acts as a liaison for community college personnel, providing information, updates, and assistance in the development of collaborative educational opportunities. CCR's Transfer Center offers students information about local community colleges.

Computer Labs
Portland State provides state-of-the-art computing facilities for undergraduate students. There are several general access labs (labs available for student use all of the time) and Instructional Computer Classrooms (labs that students may use when not scheduled for a class). Many departments also maintain their own computer labs. Check with individual departments about lab availability. Check online for locations and hours of general access labs and Instructional Computer Classrooms.
Computing Resources
Portland State University provides many computing resources to students, faculty and staff. An "Odin" account will allow you to access most of these resources, including:

Center for Student Health & Counseling
Counseling and Psychological Services is available to help students cope with the stresses of being a college student and dealing with college, work, family, and/or relationships. Services include crisis counseling, couples and family therapy, psychiatric assessment and treatment, psychological assessment, life skills workshops, alcohol and other drug assessment, and much more. During fall, winter, and spring terms, students enrolled for nine or more credit hours or who have paid the health fee are eligible for services. During summer term, students enrolled for at least one credit hour are eligible.

Disability Resource Center (DRC)
Disability Resource Center works to ensure access to University courses, programs, facilities, and activities by documenting disabilities and providing or arranging reasonable accommodations, academic adjustments, auxiliary aids and services, training, consultation, and technical assistance for students with documented disabilities.
Services available through the DRC are limited to students who are currently enrolled in classes and who have appropriate documentation on file in the DRC office.

Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)
EOP is available to first generation, low income, and/or disabled students who have a need for academic support. The program provides academic counseling, tutoring, and enrichment classes to help assess student needs, help students plan schedules, and offer guidance and referrals.

Financial Aid & Scholarship Information
Financial aid in the form of loans, grants, and work-study is available to qualified students who submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Scholarships are also available to students based on academic achievement and/or financial need. Information about both financial aid and scholarships is available in the Financial Aid Office or on their website.

Intensive English Language Program (IELP)
IELP offers English as a Second Language (ESL) courses that prepare students for regular academic courses at PSU. Students can also take special elective classes to improve their language skills for social, travel, and general purposes.

International Student and Scholar Services
International Student and Scholar Services provides a variety of academic and support services to international students. Staff members work with admitted international students and are a central source of information. International Student and Scholar Services works closely with sponsoring agencies, diplomatic missions, the Immigration and Naturalization Service, and other government agencies to resolve academic, financial, and immigration issues.

Library
The Branford P. Millar Library is located at the southwest end of the campus, on the Park Blocks. The library offers classes and guided tours to inform students of the library's research tools and search strategies. The library catalog is available over the Web with access to online databases and electronic journals for off-campus users with an Odin account.

National Student Exchange (NSE)
The National Student Exchange program provides students with an opportunity to exchange for up to one year at another participating college or university within the United States and three of its territories. Whether you are interested in taking courses not otherwise available, living in a different cultural or geographical setting, or seeking out graduate or professional schools, the NSE Experience can provide you with a fresh outlook on your education. Student athletes coming to PSU can work directly with an adviser to assist them in academic advising and scheduling. Referral, advocacy, problem-solving, and monitoring of progress for those with academic difficulty are also available.

Study Abroad Programs
PSU sponsors a wide variety of study abroad programs. The University supports a long-standing tradition that study of other cultures and places is an essential component of modern education. Advisers in the Office of International Student and Scholar Services will provide assistance to students who seek to enrich their University education through a study abroad program.

Skills Enhancement & Tutoring Center (SETC)
The Skills Enhancement and Tutoring Center offers free Writing/Reading skills and Math skills workshops throughout each term. Please see the SETC website (below) for current schedules and workshop topics.
The Peer Tutoring component of the Skills Enhancement & Tutoring Center assists PSU students with skills development so that they may become independent and active learners capable of achieving their academic goals. Peer tutors are available for one-on-one and group tutoring on a drop-in basis. Students may drop in any time tutoring is offered in their given subject. Peer tutoring is free to PSU students. Writing Center
The Writing Center offers help with writing at any level and in any discipline. Consultants assist students with such things as getting thoughts on paper, revising work in progress, interpreting assignments, and working with documentation styles such as MLA and APA.
