Profile: Mary Ann Barham

Mary Ann Barham is the Director of the Undergraduate Advising and Support Center (UASC).

Born and raised in California, Mary Ann spent 10 years in Kodiak, Alaska before moving to Portland in the 1980s to attend graduate school at PSU. She has been employed at PSU since 1991, first coordinating the Mentor Program for Returning Women Students, then as an academic adviser in the Information & Academic Support Center (now the Undergraduate Advising & Support Center). She became the Assistant Director of the office in 2001 and served as the Interim Director from 2005-2008. She loves working at PSU because of the committed staff and faculty, the diversity of the student population, and the fabulous urban location.

Mary Ann has a BS in Sociology from the University of San Francisco, a MS in Sociology and Certificate in Women's Studies from PSU. She has also completed the doctoral courses in educational leadership through PSU's School of Education.

In her free time Mary Ann enjoys traveling, working on felting and knitting projects, reading, and spending time with family & friends.
