Transfer Course Applicability system (CAS)

The Portland State Course Applicability System (CAS) provides transfer course equivalency information and degree progress reports.

There are several options within this page. Course Equivalency tables are available to identify course transferability and equivalency. Planning Guides (degree audit reports) are available that outline PSU degree and major requirements. Also, students may create individual accounts, key in transfer credits, and request a Planning Guide (degree audit report) which details how transfer credits apply toward meeting degree and major requirements. These Planning Guides will identify complete and incomplete requirements and will provide information on which courses can be taken at Portland State (or at a specified transfer school) to satisfy remaining unmet requirements.

The evaluations generated by CAS are unofficial.

Here are some tips on using CAS to plan your transfer.

The notes below will help you as you navigate the CAS web pages:

Proceed to CAS. Choose the Student User Guide link to access information on how to use the system features.

Choose the Guest Login option on the left to view Course Equivalencies and Program Guides. This option allows view-only access to the transfer tables and degree requirement reports and does not require a member account.

Choose the Create Account button to build your own individual account and create a member user ID and a member password. The school ID will be PDX. The CAS site is not secure, so enter only the minimum personal information required.

Once a new account has been created, login using the Member Login fields on the left to access the course tables that allow entry of transfer courses. Remember to enter PDX as the school ID.

To enter transfer courses, choose the My Courses button.

Once the transfer courses are entered, account members may choose Create Planning Guide to access a degree audit report that identifies transfer course applicability and degree progress.

If you have questions concerning the Transfer Guides, contact the Office of Admissions, Registration and Records.
