- Diversity & Multicultural Student Services (DMSS)

- Programs and services offered through the Diversity & Multicultural Student Services provide academic support services to Portland State students, as well as college information and educational support services to students in many of the Portland metropolitan area middle schools and high schools. Comprehensive academic support programs are available for students who come from diverse backgrounds, especially those who have been traditionally underrepresented in post-secondary education. DMSS programs and services are geared to help students achieve greater success at all levels through enhancement of writing and math skills, academic advising, counseling, advocacy, mentoring opportunities, and scholarship information delivered by a multi-cultural staff.
- Peer Tutoring & Learning Center

- The Peer Tutoring & Learning Center offers one-on-one tutoring, supplemental instruction, and workshops. It is certified by the College Reading and Learning Association, a national organization that recognizes university tutoring programs. Only current-term PSU students may use our services as we are funded by student fees.

- The Portland State University Writing Center is a lovely venue in which trained professional consultants and staff provide nonjudgmental, collaborative support to students, faculty, and community members in all stages of the writing process.
- The services offered by the Writing Center are free and open to the public: you may bring in any writing project academic or nonacademic, personal or professional.

- The Students First Mentoring Project's (SFMP) mission is to help new-to-campus first generation students succeed at and graduate from college.

- The mission of the Disability Resource Center (DRC) is to collaborate with and empower Portland State University students with disabilities in order to coordinate support services and programs that enable equal access to an education and university life.
- Student Health and Counseling (SHAC)

- The Center for Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) provides mental health, medical and dental services. Students are able to work with physicians, dentists, pharmacists, therapists and other health care providers. Many services are free of charge or have minimal fees.
- Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program

- The Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program at Portland State University (PSU) works with motivated and talented undergraduates who want to pursue PhDs. It introduces juniors and seniors who are first-generation and low-income, and/or members of under-represented groups to academic research and to effective strategies for getting into and graduating from PhD programs.

- Student Activities and Leadership Programs (SALP) supports the University mission by advocating for and supporting student engagement and fostering an inclusive environment that sustains diverse and ethical leadership. This is done by providing advising and administrative support to student organizations, events, and trainings.

- Advising & Career Services is a newly formed department that provides advising for students who are exploring, choosing or changing majors; assistance for students encountering academic difficulties; co-admitted students; and referrals to schools/colleges and academic departments for students with identified majors.
