International Student Transfer
PSU welcomes over 1,800 international students from over 100 countries! We have many services and support systems in place to help you succeed and enjoy your experience here.
As an international student, you might be transferring from either a 2-year or a 4-year institution. The transfer requirements are the same no matter where you are transferring from: 2.25 GPA in at least 30 transferrable college credits and a C- grade or better in WR 121 College Writing (or equivalent). - Transcripts: If you have credits from non-English-speaking countries, you need to provide transcripts that have been translated into English.
- Proof of English Language Proficiency: It is important that your English language skills are at an appropriate level so that you can be successful in your classes. For the options for demonstrating proficiency, go to: www.pdx.edu/admissions/english-language-proficiency-requirements-undergr...
- Financial Certification and Immigration Information: This documentation is required in order to issue you an I-20, which you will need in order to obtain a student visa. For more information, go to: www.pdx.edu/sites/www.pdx.edu.admissions/files/media_assets/intl_financi...
- Transfer Information Form: If you are already residing in the United States with an F-1 or J-1 visa, you need to submit this form. It can be found at: www.pdx.edu/sites/www.pdx.edu.admissions/files/media_assets/intl_transfe...
If you are transferring credits from an Oregon university or an Oregon or Southwest Washington community college, you can see how credits will transfer even before applying for admission. Go to: www.pdx.edu/admissions/uselect-course-equivalency-system This website allows you to create an unofficial degree audit for yourself, or to simply look at lists of credits and how they transfer. When you apply for formal admission to PSU, you will receive an official evaluation of all of your transfer credits.
