Theater Arts Student Organization

The Theater Arts Student Association is a student-run production and service organization whose goal is to involve more students in theater at Portland State University. We aim to present students with the chance to gain experience with the collaborative process of theater and the related arts. Members produce student-acted and directed performances, organize a variety of activities for theater arts students, and operate concessions for departmental productions. We welcome student suggestions for theatrical ideas and projects, including guest artists. Membership is not limited to theater majors. Any student in the University can be a member of TASO.

TASO puts on productions in on-campus and off-campus venues. These shows can be anything from a short or full-length theatre performance, a student written and performed sketch comedy show, to a "comedy showdown" of student improvization skills. Past productions have included On the Verge, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Medea, and Suburbia. Flyers and posters for TASO meetings and/or shows are posted throughout the PSU campus.
