Student Resources - Architecture
Portland State University is committed to helping students succeed and thrive in their college careers. To that end, the university offers services and resources that provide support for academics, social and emotional needs, recreation and physical activity, entertainment, housing and financial matters:
The Millar Library houses thousands of electronic resources and over 1.4 million printed volumes and media resources. The Library faculty and staff offer support to students wishing to use the library collections and services to achieve their goals.
The Tutoring Center offers drop-in tutoring services, academic coaching, electronic tutoring, general academic support, study skills workshops, as well as links to other campus academic support, such as the Writing Center.
Student Health and Counseling
The Student Health and Counseling Center (SHAC) provides medical and dental health services, emotional and psychological counseling, and academic testing, specifically for Portland State University students. An advice nurse is available for urgent after-hours phone assistance.
The campus Housing office supports students in finding on-campus accommodations, as well as a guide for finding off-campus housing.
Living and Studying on Campus
The Campus Life page will help you find everything you need to know in order to make the most of your time at PSU. This is your resource for finding information on student centers, student leadership organizations, recreation and entertainment, getting around campus and living in Portland.
Student Recreation and Vikings Athletics
Need a good workout? The Student Rec Center offers a cardiovascular and weight training gym, running track, aquatic complex with a lap pool and whirlpool, outdoor activities such as hiking and biking, intramural sports and much more.
Portland State's athletic teams, the Vikings proudly represent our university in many sports, including football, basketball, cross-country, track and field, tennis, soccer, vollyeyball and cheerleading. Come out and cheer on your Vikings!
Portlanders love their bikes, and for good reason: it's often the quickest and cheapest way to travel in the city, especially on campus. PSU's Bike Hub is a great resource for keeping your bike running smoothly, offering workshops for DIY bike maintenance, self-service and full-service bike repairs, and a shop selling bicycle-related accessories. They'll even loan you a bike helmet or lock if you've forgotten yours that day. Low-cost membership is available to students, faculty and staff.
