OFFICE ASSISTANTS (FEDERAL WORK-STUDY)

Purpose of the Positions
The School of Music office is looking for student office assistants to provide office support to the office for reception (both phone and in person), also work on projects at the directions of the staff and support other office operations (e.g., typing, photocopying, faxing, filing, and errands). The most important part of these positions is to assist faculty, staff, students and the public in a courteous and helpful manner.
Performs reception duties in a friendly and sincere way by answering office telephones, routing calls to appropriate person, taking messages, greeting office visitors, answering routine questions or referring questions to the appropriate person.
Checking in/out instruments, lockers, practice room access codes for students.
Schedules appointments for students to meet with music advisors. Works on assigned projects for staff. Additional duties will be assigned by the Executive Assistant to the School Director and Office Coordinator. Successful candidates for these positions must be reliable, responsible, self motivated, work independently, excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; take instructions from multiples sources. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word. Knowledge of Excel is a plus. Strong writing skills.
