Fridays@4: Architecture Weekly All-School Gathering
Each Friday at 4pm during the term, the students, faculty and community of the Portland State University School of Architecture converge on the Shattuck Hall Annex to absorb wisdom and advice from notable architects, artists, designers, landscape architects, academics and fellow students who speak about their work in their respective fields.
Our Fridays@4 schedule for Fall 2013 is as follows:
October 4: Pickathon Music Festival Design-Build: A student presentation of their summer experience
October 11: Oregon Board of Architect Examiners: A presentation on licensure, followed by Student Design
Competition Introduction at 5pm
October 18: Forensic Pedestrian: Local writer Laura Foster talks about discovering remnants of the past while touring the city on foot
October 25: Art 101: PSU Professor of Art Horia Boboia talks about his work
November 1: Spain 2013: Students report on their summer study experience in Barcelona, Madrid and Girona, Spain
November 8: PSU Architecture faculty member Aaron Whelton talks about the work of his practice
November 15: Bilingual: Faculty members Jonathan Bolch & Yoonhee Choi discuss drawing and art-making
November 22: Burgeoning Polemics: Thesis students will introduce their emerging design research topics
