Bollywood in the Age of New Media

On May 7, beginning at 4 PM, LH 355,  the Film Program is sponsoring a scholarly visit with Indian Cinema scholar Anustup Basu, Associate Professor of English and Media and Cinema Studies at the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign. Prof. Basu will present a free, public lecture on Bollywood in the Age of New Media in conjunction with Film History III (1968-Present) offered by the School of Theatre and Film.  Earlier in the day, he will also lead a guest seminar in TA 480: Film Theory on the phenomenology of information in the contemporary media landscape. The seminar is limited to seminar participants and members of the PSU community. Prof. Basu is the author of Bollywood in the Age of New Media: The Geo-televisual Aesthetic (2010) and the co-editor of Figurations in Indian Film (2013).
