Jessica Steinhebel

Abel is a recent transplant from Fresno California. He has over 15 years of advising experience, program development and techniques to improve student success. He was the Coordinator and Lead Advisor for the Craig School of Business at Fresno State. He also taught guidance study courses and worked as a part-time counselor at Fresno City College. He was the recipient of Outstanding Advisor. Abel’s approach to learning is to try thinking outside the box.  

Abel has been involved in drama, arts and plays guitar in a band. He understands the importance of being able to express yourself. “I feel creativity is modem for learning and creativity leads to understanding. Art exists all around us; you just have to open your eyes. “

Education: BA in Communicative Disorders, Deaf Education, CSUC; MA in Education-Counseling and Student Services, CSUC.

Marie joined the College in December 2010. Marie has an extensive background in student advising, having worked at WSU-Vancouver, CUNY Brooklyn College, and Santa Monica College. 

Marie leads a parallel life in classical music as a singer and voice teacher and is a self-described "yogine."

Education: MM in Music, Boston Conservatory of Music, MA in Counseling, CSU Northridge. 

Jessica joined the College in December 2010. Prior to her path in advising, Jessica worked in the Financial Aid area at several colleges, serving as Director of Financial Aid in her previous position at a local private arts college. Jessica is a first generation college student and strives to assist students on their path in achieving a degree in the arts.

 Outside of her day job, Jessica is a freelance flutist and in-demand recording artist in the local Portland indie music scene. She primarily plays with local indie chamber pop band, Petoskey. The band is due to release their sophomore record in late 2013/early 2014. She also teaches privately in her flute studio, composes, and enjoys creative writing.
