Vocal Area Coordinator, Opera Production

Sharing the voice and vision of opera.

What art form requires performers to move, act, and even dance, while singing with everything they possess? Opera. Students learn this from professor Christine Meadows, professional mezzo-soprano and PSU Opera Program director. She initiates students into the unique world of opera that combines music and the theater, culminating in award-winning performances before capacity crowds.

Christine Meadows received her undergraduate training at Portland State University, going on to earn an MM in Vocal Performance from Indiana University. After her graduation she quickly established herself in the professional world as a magnificent opera performer, securing roles with New York City Opera, the Dallas Lyric Opera and the Houston Opera.
