The School of Music at Portland State University is seeking candidates for a full time non-tenure track position in Voice at the Assistant Professor level, beginning Fall 2015.  The successful candidate will teach studio voice as well as courses in vocal literature, vocal pedagogy and others within the candidate’s field of expertise.  Assignments may include opera workshop, opera production, advising voice majors and serving as co-coordinator of the vocal program.  Service on committees and participation in school meetings and auditions is expected.  Community outreach will be an important aspect of the position, along with enthusiastic recruiting within the state and nationally.

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree.  Candidates must have an established or emerging national reputation as a successful teacher in both studio lessons and classroom settings at the collegiate level.  Evidence of professional activity at the nationally competitive level is required.  A Doctoral degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

The starting annual salary rate for this position will be competitive with an excellent benefits package including 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon Public Universities.
