ANNOUNCING AUDITIONS
FOR THE
YEAR-LONG ADVANCED ACTING SEQUENCE 2015/16
Instructor: Devon Allen

TA 340, 341, and 342 are taught in sequence over the school year. We move through Actor Process, Classical Acting, and Advanced Styles. It is intensive actor training, fun, rewarding, and a great bonding experience. Committing to actor training teaches skills beyond the stage - presentation of self, critical thinking, empathy, leadership, analysis of complex human behavior, group dynamics, ensemble-building, and confidence. These auditions are to show your preparedness, commitment, and passion to enter a year-long training sequence.

Required:
One 1-2 minute monologue, off-book, and worked on to the best of your ability. Contemporary or Classical fine.

Auditions will be held on:
May 1, Friday
4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

May 3, Sunday
1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

May 4, Monday
4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The sign up list will be posted two weeks before the auditions on the board outside the Theater and Film office. If you have any questions, or cannot attend the posted audition dates, please e-mail Devon Allen at: devona@pdx.edu

Auditions for Theater Arts productions are open to all admitted PSU students in good academic standing, regardless of major and/or class standing. Auditions usually take one of two forms, auditioners will be asked to read from the script, or auditioners will be asked to prepare a short audition piece. Performance dates and audition Callback times are posted with the audition details, so students can be sure they can be available for rehearsals and performances. Mainstage theater auditions take place in mid-Sept for Fall, early December for Winter, and early March for Spring term. Second Season theater auditions take place in June for Fall, November for Winter, and January for Spring. For Mainstage Auditions, scripts are placed at the Reserve Desk in Millar Library approximately four weeks before auditions are held. For full details on all audition calls in the school, watch this page.
