Advising Basics for Undergraduates - T&F

For all students in the School of Theater + Film
Students must declare their chosen major at the start of enrollment at PSU to be able to register for majors-only courses.

The Course Planning Guide is a helpful tool in creating an academic plan.

Information about Sophomore Inquiry and alignment between clusters and minors so students can search by cluster or minor to find courses that allow them to complete both.
 
Theater Advising
Advising is required of all majors. Theater Arts Major advisors are Prof. Devon Allen, Prof. Alison Heryer, Prof. Bruce Keller, Prof. Karin Magaldi, and  Prof. Daniel Meeker.  You may consult the faculty profiles if you want to request an advisor that matches your area of interest, e.g. performance, scene design, costuming, or your advisor will be assigned. Dance minors should meet with Tere Mathern.  Students with 75 credits or more may meet with a School advisor. Students with less than 75 credits must meet with the College of the Arts advisors by Winter Term of the first year enrolled at PSU (see below).
 
Film Advising
Advising is required of all majors, and Film Majors under 50 credits must meet with the College of the Arts advisors by Winter Term of the first year enrolled at PSU (see below). Film Majors over 50 credits must meet with a faculty advisor from the Film Program on a regular basis, starting in the first term of enrollment at PSU.
 
Film Major Advisors are Prof. Drew Beard, Prof. Mark Berrettini, Prof. Amy Borden, Prof. Courtney Hermann, Prof. Kristin Hole, Prof. Matt McCormick, and Prof. Dustin Morrow. Faculty contact information, including links to online calendars to schedule appointments.
