Can I take Freshman Inquiry courses Pass/No Pass?

No. All students must take Freshman Inquiry as graded (A-F) courses

Can I switch Freshman Inquiry instructors or classes?

No. Freshman Inquiry is designed to be a full-year course. You are required to complete the full year in the same class with the same instructor. If there is an unusual circumstance that requires a change to another Freshman Inquiry class or theme, you should speak to instructors in both courses. For additional advising, you can seek advising at the Advising and Career Services (ACS), room 402, University Studies Building.

Is Freshman Inquiry offered summer term?

Yes, an intensive freshman inquiry course is offered over the summer term. Students can complete a missing term or complete the entire requirement.

Can I start Freshman Inquiry during any term, or only in the fall term?

Most Freshman Inquiry courses begin in the fall term, but a few begin in the winter term which can be completed in two terms (7 credits in the winter and 8 credits in the spring).

Does my Capstone have to correspond with my Upper Division Cluster?

No, students may choose a Capstone related to or different from their junior cluster.

What should I do if I have an idea, community partner suggestion, or topic for a Capstone?

Most years the Capstone office has far more ideas for courses than we could possibly fund or staff, but any student, staff, faculty member, or community member is welcome to contact Dr. Seanna Kerrigan, the PSU Capstone Program Director, to discuss any ideas related to Capstones

Do I still need to meet University Studies general education requirement if I'm a Liberal Studies major and also have a second major?

Students majoring in Liberal Studies (primary) and also a second major must meet the general education requirement (University Studies OR Honors) and the upper division requirement in the academic distribution areas for the second major. (per PSU Bulletin 2011/2012, page 267)
