Friday Transportation Seminar - Making Urban Transport Sustainable: Comparison of Germany and the U.S.

Germany and the U.S. have among the highest motorization rates in the world. Yet Germans make a four times higher share of trips by foot, bike, and public transport and drive for a 25 percent lower share of trips. This seminar investigates international trends in daily travel behavior with a focus on Germany and the USA.

WFPL: Louisville, KY, Chosen to Receive Technical Help from PSU Implementing Sustainability Projects

Louisville has been chosen to participate in the first group of cities included in Portland State University’s Urban Sustainability Accelerator Program. The program will provide the city with technical assistance to implement green infrastructure initiatives.

Portland State’s Urban Sustainability Accelerator announces first class of cities

The Urban Sustainability Accelerator has selected its first class of mid-sized cities from around the country to participate in a year-long program to develop and implement sustainability projects. In a twist on PSU’s motto, “Let knowledge serve the city,” the Urban Sustainability Accelerator was created to support smaller and mid-sized cities and help them make new strides in sustainable development.
