PSU's Archaeology Roadshow comes to OMSI on June 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event features artifact identification, exhibits, and hands-on activities for visitors of all ages. The event is free.

Will Parnell, Curriculum and Instruction Early Childhood Education faculty, presented a paper, "A/r/tography and Action Research: Crisis, Empowerment, and Learning in Early Childhood" in the session "Lending Lives: Arts-Based Educational Research as Imaginative Political Pedagogy" at the American Educational Research Association conference in San Francisco, April 29.

Virginia Butler, Anthropology faculty, organized a session “Preliminary Results from the Tse-whit-zen Project:  Zooarchaeology and Geoarchaeology of a 2000 Year Old Lower Elwha Klallam Village on the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Washington State” at the Northwest Anthropological Conference, March 28-30, held in Portland.

Berrin Erdogan, Business Administration faculty, participated on many levels at the annual meeting of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Houston, April 11-13.

From radon hazards to bicycle transportation, from eco-roofs to social network theory, the work of 250 students will be on display Wednesday, May 8 at Portland State University’s first-ever Campus-Wide Student Research Symposium.

The winners of the prestigious BioMed Central Research Award were Geoffrey S. Diemer and Kenneth M. Stedman, from Portland State University, who won the award for their article, "A novel virus genome discovered in an extreme environment suggests recombination between unrelated groups of RNA and DNA viruses," which was published in Biology Direct.
