School of Education lands Boeing funding

The Boeing Company has selected PSU's K-12 pre-service math and science teacher-education program as one of 10 in the nation to receive a $40,000 grant to prepare math and science teachers. Boeing sought programs that successfully combined technology, teacher training, and partnerships with local K-12 school systems. The funds will go toward purchasing texts, materials, and technology for the program.

Scholarships for teacher education triple at PSU

PSU's Graduate School of Education received $700,000, the largest private gift in its history, from the estate of philanthropist and longtime Portland resident Janette Drew. The estate gift brings Drew's total endowment to over $1 milliontripling the annual scholarship dollars available for students in PSU's Graduate Teacher Education Program and allowing larger awards for students during a time of rapidly increasing tuition.
