Head of Graduate School of Education to Retire, Interim Dean Appointed

Phyllis Edmundson, dean of the Graduate School of Education (GSE) for the past seven years, has announced her retirement, effective August 31, 2005. Carol L. Mack, currently the associate dean in the GSE, has been named as the interim dean until a search is completed.

Portland State to Award Record Number of Degrees at Spring Commencement, June 11

This Saturday, June 11, Portland State University will confer its largest number of bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees ever. Included in this year’s graduating class are Miss America 2002 Katie Harman Ebner, PSU President Daniel Bernstine’s son Justin Bernstine, and Susie Petrie, daughter of former NBA Portland Trail Blazer Geoff Petrie.

Mayor Tom Potter To Speak on University-Community Relationships at Annual Civic Engagement Awards

Mayor Tom Potter will be the keynote speaker at Portland State University's Fifth Annual Civic Engagement Awards, Tuesday, May 24, 3-5 p.m., at PSU's Smith Memorial Student Union, room 238 (1825 S.W. Broadway). Potter will speak on PSU's partnerships with the community and provost appointee Roy Koch will confer the awards.
