After two months of reaching out to residents who live near North Lombard Street, a group of Portland State University graduate students has established goals for its project, Lombard Re-Imagined.

The Urban Sustainability Accelerator has selected its first class of mid-sized cities from around the country to participate in a year-long program to develop and implement sustainability projects. In a twist on PSU’s motto, “Let knowledge serve the city,” the Urban Sustainability Accelerator was created to support smaller and mid-sized cities and help them make new strides in sustainable development.

 

Portland is expanding its professional and economic ties to Vietnam with a two-year professional exchange program through Portland State University’s Center for Public Service and the U.S. State Department. 

Tara Goddard, a PhD candidate in Urban Studies at Portland State University (PSU), is devoting her thesis to a subject that gets a lot of traction in the media but so far has received scant attention in academia: road rage between people who drive and people who bike.
