Portland State University’s Impact Entrepreneurs program has announced the keynote speaker and awards finalists that will be featured at the Elevating Impact Summit on June 21st at the Gerding Theater in Portland’s Pearl District.
Many people think that Alumni Association's only becomes relevant after they graduate, however the PSU Alumni Association offers services to current students—even freshmen. Enhancing services already offered from places like Advising and Career Services, the PSU Alumni Association connects students to other alumni who are already working in the companies they may want to work for, holds annual networking events like the student etiquette dinner, and are a another great resource for everything from career and internship opportunities to courses of study.
Mary Vance won the Esther Matthews award from the Oregon Career Development Association in March for leadership and professional commitment to the career development field.
In this day and age, finishing a college degree often isn’t enough, says sustainability career counselor Mary Vance. Graduates must also have real-world work experience under their belt to land their first job.
“The problem is, many students can’t afford to take an unpaid internship to get that work experience,” said Vance.
