Portland State University's Korean Student Association (KSA) and Institute for Asian Studies present
A Korean Film Festival & fundraiser for Korean Studies at PSU.

Admission:

  •     FREE w/PSU ID
  •     $5/general admission **
  •     Children under 7 are free
  •     Special FREE admission for everyone on April 28

** All proceeds benefit the Korean Studies Program at PSU. Additional contributions will be accepted at the door.

Location:

  •    All films will screen at the PSU 5th Ave. Cinema, 510 SW Hall St., Portland, except on April 28.
  •    Location of April 28th film is the PSU School of Business Bldg, room SBA 190

Don’t Cry for me Sudan (2010; 90 min. documentary; Korean w/English subtitles)
Director Coo Soo-Hwan documents the life of Catholic Father Tae-Seok John Lee who worked as a doctor, teacher, conductor, architect, and priest in the small Sudan village of Tong. After his death in 2010 a funeral was held for him by the local Dinka tribe with many of the tribal warriors in tears.

Director Choi Dong-hoon's action, comedy, fantasy movie depicts a tale from the Chosen Dynasty, about a wizard that has been quested to save pipe of prophecy from the hands of the evil goblins and restore order in the world. (Contains violence, rated PG-13/R)
