What:
The Graduate School of Education (GSE) at Portland State University is presenting a community panel discussion on "Learning From Successful Schools: How Do We Help All Children Learn to Read by 3rd Grade?"
The event will include presentations by Phyllis Edmundson, dean of the GSE, who will share the results of an inquiry she conducted to determine the factors that teachers and administrators in schools see as critical to getting children to read by third grade; and Vonnie Condon, retired principal and administrator of the Portland School District, who will present the results of a similar study of principals in Portland Public Schools. The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion.
When:
Wednesday, March 2, 2005, 7:30-9 a.m., includes continental breakfast.
Where:
PSU's Smith Memorial Student Union, Room 338 (1825 S.W. Broadway).
Cost:
The Forum is free and open to the public.
