Ph.D. student Natasja Swartz wins AAAS award

Doctoral student Natasja Swartz was recently selected as the recipient of the Laurence M. Klauber award for outstanding research at the 91st annual meeting of the Pacific Division of the AAAS. Natasja is a second-year student working under the guidance of Dr. Tami Lasseter Clare. Her presentation entitled, "Use of X-Ray MIcroanalysis and Infrared Microspectroscopy for Multianalytical Characterization of the Walters Codex, an Ethiopian Manuscript" was one of three awards she received at the conference, and she will have her way paid to Washington, DC to present her work at the national AAAS meeting in February, 2011.
