Green. It's more than our school color, it's our school spirit.

It's hard to see where our sustainability efforts end and those of the community begin. We've integrated our efforts with like-minded businesses and public sector agencies to provide students with a rich understanding of sustinable principles. What's more, our campus sustainability efforts are integrated into the academic programs, making us a living laboratory of sustainability.

The Center for Sustainable Processes and Practices (CSP2) fosters multidisciplinary research that contributes to the development of sustainable solutions and strategies of relevance to the public and private sector communities locally, regionally, and internationally. This research will explicitly seek to advance the integration of social, economic, and environmental considerations into sustainable strategies and solutions. Projects will combine the academic expertise of PSU faculty and other research collaborators with the experiential knowledge of community practitioners.

As Portland State University strives to become an internationally recognized university known for excellence in student learning, innovative research, and community engagement that simultaneously advance economic vitality, environmental health, and quality of life, its Academic Sustainability Programs must similarly work to provide students with abundant offerings in the study of sustainability at the highest level of academic excellence.
