Profile: Meet Student Ambassador Kirsten Keith

Major: Art History

Kirsten Keith is a junior studying Art History and Gender & Sexualities. With the solid
education that Portland State University will provide her, she would like to pursue her
Master’s in Art History followed up by a Doctorate. From there she would like to curate and
research themes of gender and sex in art.

What initially drew Kirsten to PSU’s campus was its openness and comfort with diversity; PSU’s
unique commitment to its students kept her around. Coming from a community, like so many
others, where art programs are the first item chopped off the budgeting list, she was pleasantly
refreshed to enter into an academic atmosphere where students shape their own environment.
Kirsten desires to carry PSU’s commitment  to its student with her as she enters the
professional world, not only as a personal ideology but also as a goal for change.
