School of Community Health Professor has article cited in Surgeon Generals Report
The School of Community Health would like to congratulate Dr. Mark Kaplan. His article "Suicide among male veterans: a prospective population-based study." was cited in the recently released 2012 National Strategy for Suicide Prevention: GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR ACTION, A report of the U.S. Surgeon General and of the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention.
Dr. Kaplan is very active in suicide research, he received a nearly $1million dollar grant last year from the NIH for research on suicide and alcohol consumption. He a strong advocate on suicide prevention and research.
