Campus Labs and NASPA Consortium Studies

I want to give you all a heads up about benchmarking studies we can participate in free of charge through our Campus Labs (formerly StudentVoice) membership. Campus Labs administers their assessments through their partnership with the NASPA Assessment & Knowledge Consortium. The Consortium is a collection of assessment instruments focused on key areas within Student Affairs.

We can select up to four assessments to administer during an academic year. Consortium studies are designed to provide colleges and universities with actionable campus-specific and benchmarking data to shape and enhance programming inside and outside the classroom. All assessments are aligned with professional standards. Typically, a dept. or unit would not participate in a Benchmark Study more than once every two years.

If you are interested in participating in one of these studies, please contact me. I strongly encourage participation in these studies. Why reinvent the wheel? These assessments have many advantages over home-grown assessments: 1) aligned with standards for best practice, 2) vetted by assessment professionals nationally, 3) provide comparative data over time, 4) free of charge, 5) Campus Labs administers the surveys, which will free up your time to do other things.

Assessment Areas include:

  • The Profile: A study of the college student experience
  • Campus Activities
  • Career & Professional Aspirations
  • Fraternity & Sorority Life
  • Mental Health & Counseling
  • Orientation
  • Recreation & Wellness
  • Residence Life
  • Student Conduct
  • Student Union Programming
