The PGE Foundation on Friday announced it has awarded $376,000 to 55 area programs.
The latest round of giving brings the foundation's total giving for 2012 to $872,933.
In the second and third quarters, the foundation focused on supporting education and academic support programs.
The largest grants were awarded to:
- Portland State University, which received $50,000 over two years to help develop the PGE Foundation Power Engineering Education Lab.
- The Oregon Alliance of Independent Colleges & Universities, which received $35,000 to provide 10 scholarships and student aid during the 2012-2013 school year.
- Oregon State University, which received $25,000 to fund 10 engineering scholarships for the 2012-2013 school year.
- The Regional Arts & Culture Council, which received $15,000 for STEM to STEAM with The Right Brain Initiaive, which infuses arts education into science, technology, engineering and math in Quatama Elementary and Jackson Elementary in Hillsboro.
The remainder of the donations was spread among more than 45 additional organizations.
