New MSW Distance Option Students

Summer Pre-0rientation Sessions

Save the Date! Fall Orientation Sept. 23-24

If you are enrolling in the Eugene Cohort:

  • 3 - 5 pm on Friday, August 9

The session will be held in Room #134 (Canada Room) at the         University of Oregon Baker Downtown Center, 975 High Street, Eugene, OR, 97401. Eugene Site Coordinator Valerie Hamby will contact you with additional information prior to the events.

If you are enrolling in the Bend Cohort (Note new date and time):

  • 5 - 6:30 pm on Friday, August 9

The session will be held in the Bend Classroom, 63360 Britta, Building 1, Bend, OR  97701. Bend Site Coordinator Gary Smith will contact you with additional information prior to the events.

Next Steps:

Contact the PSU Office of Admissions with questions about your admission to Portland State University or check your online PSU application to check on any outstanding requirements.

After receiving your official admission letter from PSU (which can take 6-8 weeks), set up your Odin Account. This is your PSU computer account that allows you to access Banweb and the School of Social Work Student WebCenter. (Please note: It is your responsibility as a student to monitor your records and report any discrepancies.)

Learn about tuition and fees (Please note: the approximate information listed below is based on 2012-13 tuition and fees. 2013-14 information will be posted as soon as its received.) Distance Option students register between 6-11 credit hours each term, depending on the curriculum.

One term of 11 credits: $4,740
One term of 11 credits: $6,823

The approximate total cost for this option's tuition and fees (resident rate) is $35,000. Please note: Distance Option students pay differential tuition, which provides students the opportunity to study in his or her community, as well as complete a field placement in or near the student's place of residence.
