International Applicants MSW Program
The MSW Program welcomes applications from international students. The student body at Portland State University includes students from many countries. The greater Portland area is home to industries, stores, restaurants, and cultural activities reflecting the diverse populations in the Portland metropolitan area.
International applicants to the MSW Program must also apply to the University. Students are admitted to the MSW Program for fall term only. Completed applications must be postmarked by February 3, 2014.
Tuition and Fees
The information below reflects estimated costs for tuition and living expenses for international students. Please contact the Office of Admissions at 503-725-3511 and/or International Students Services at 503-725-4094 for complete and up-to-date information.
Graduate/non-resident for nine months full-time tuition $23,466.
Living expenses (including books and supplies) $ 13,533.

Additional funds will be needed for transportation expenses for Field Work, (See Field Education).
If you did not receive your undergraduate degree from a U.S. college or university you are required to take the TOEFL exam. A minimum TOEFL score of 80 overall is required for the internet-based test, 550 on the paper-based test, and 213 on the computer-based test is needed for admission as a graduate student at Portland State University. Students must demonstrate a fluency in the English language. See the international admissions page for further information on TOEFL requirements.
To qualify for admission to Portland State University, you must be able to show that you have sufficient funds to pay for your graduate education for one year. Consequently, your bank will have to verify that you have the funds on deposit to cover your expenses, which does not include round trip airfare from your country.
