Diversity & Inclusion At the School of Social Work

Social Justice, Diversity & Inclusion Committee

The Social Justice Diversity and Inclusion Committee is comprised of Faculty, Staff and Students who are charged with promoting and overseeing the implementation and annual updating of the Faculty Action Plan for Social Justice, Inclusion and Diversity.

Cultural Competence and Diversity Council (CCDC)

The CCDC is comprised of Faculty, Staff, Students, and Community members who are committed to promoting cultural competency and diversity in the practice of social work, as well as social justice, by engaging the collaboration and participation of the SSW and the community it serves. The CCDC is available to provide advocacy, mentorship, and overall support to students.

Students for Social Action (SSA)

The mission of the SSA is to create a space where students across multiple identities can engage in meaningful dialogue around power and privilege and its intersection with our role as social workers and to act as a platform from which to initiate change within the school and larger community.

Guiding principles:

  • Shared power
  • Solidarity with students and the community
  • Conversations that challenge us
