Curricular Changes

The BSW Program is undergoing a major revision in its curriculum due to the required new CSWE 2008 Standards and Competencies. The entire curriculum is under review and all core classes will be coordinated and linked with the CSWE Core Competencies and Practice Behaviors. The page you see here lists the 10 core competencies and the practice behaviors.In the near future all core BSW courses will have assignments linked to these competencies and practice behaviors for assessment purposes. The shift in education reflects the trend in education toward being outcome based. Students will start to see this shift in the junior classes to begin with next year (2012-13). Seniors in the program now will still continue under the previous curriculum.
