Mary is a Clinical Member and Approved
Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She has
served as Coordinator of the Kairos Family Center
in Elgin IL and
as Director of the Northern
Illinois University
Family Center.
Together, with James Andrews, she developed a clinical model for including
families in the treatment of speech-language-hearing disorders. She and Jim
have presented over 150 workshops and short courses in the U.S. and Canada; they have written a book, Family-based treatment in communicative
disorders: A systemic approach.
