Background
Gerasimos Fergadiotis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences at Portland State University. Dr. Fergadiotis’ research, which is currently funded by NIDCD, is focused on developing psychometric applications for quantifying cognitive deficits in adults with aphasia. He is the Director of the Aging and Adult Language Disorders Lab which among another projects coordinates the Northwest Aphasia Registry and Repository in collaboration with the University of Washington Aphasia Lab (UW PI: Diane Kendall). He is also a member of the ASHA Ad Hoc Committee on Patient-Reported Outcomes that is charged with proposing a plan as to how ASHA can help professionals meet the needs for patient-reported outcomes in health care settings. Finally, Dr. Fergadiotis is affiliated with the Aphasia Network, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supporting people with aphasia in Pacific Northwest.
